This week I went to an exhibition in a beautiful old building that was built during the Gold Rush (about 1880). It is beside the Melbourne Museum, and you can walk there from the city centre.

If you walk along Nicholson Street from here, you can find some cute old houses.

This is a pleasant part of town, near French patisseries and good coffee shops. It is also near the Queen Victoria Market which is worth a visit. And the German language school is nearby.
Someone I spoke to recently said the best things in Melbourne are the cafe breakfasts- and they are really good. When you come ask a local where the best breakfast cafe is near you. The breakfasts usually have eggs, spinach, sourdough toast, avocado and maybe bacon or mushrooms. Enjoy it with a fresh orange juice and followed by your choice from our great coffee range. You won’t need any lunch after that feast!
