Do you think you cannot grow anything because you live in an apartment? Or because you have a small garden… or no garden?
The answer is you can! Microgreens! Tiny green plants to put on your plate!
On my small balcony there is a burst of rocket – to pick as a garnish, or small salad. I have bought some seeds suitable to cut as they grow. There is Tatsoi, red leaf amaranth, Chinese celery, red Russian kale, pink sprouting kale and mustard greens. I plan to put them in shallow trays and cut the leaves but keep the plants growing as long as possible. Though small, they are highly nutritious.
The seeds are from The Seed Collection, in Upper Ferntree Gully. Check out this link to get information on how to grow successful microgreens. Spring or Autumn are good times, so now is good even if you live in the Northern hemisphere.
It feels so good to grow things you can eat!
